STRATEC‘s products therefore play a crucial role in blood banks, joint practices, hospitals and laboratories worldwide. The systems are in use at all times and perform more than five million tests every day.
Project Overview
As a global leader in automated analysis systems, STRATEC aimed to streamline its data management and ensure seamless interaction between its ERP and PLM environments. Manual ECAD data entry led to inefficiencies, errors, and redundant processes. To address these challenges, STRATEC sought a unified, automated solution to improve data consistency and integration. Together with XPLM, STRATEC implemented a standardized database architecture that automates the transfer of ECAD data to PTC Windchill and synchronizes material data between ERP and PLM. This integration established a single source of truth for product data, reduced manual effort, and enhanced transparency across all business processes.
Solution
To replace manual ECAD data handling and ensure consistent product information, STRATEC implemented an automated integration of Cadence OrCAD into PTC Windchill. The project began with a detailed analysis of existing processes and the setup of an ECAD component database, forming the foundation for efficient data management. Using XPLM’s Standard Windchill ECAD Integration Package, the integration was tailored to meet STRATEC’s specific workflow requirements. After configuration workshops and targeted user training, the new solution was successfully deployed within seven months—enabling seamless data exchange, reducing manual effort, and improving process transparency across departments.
