The company has a workforce of 3,000 employees and has over 20 subsidiaries worldwide with design and manufacturing units across the globe.
Project Overview
Putzmeister set out to modernize its engineering and data management landscape by replacing legacy MCAD and PDM systems with a unified solution based on Siemens NX and Teamcenter. The goal was to streamline processes, ensure seamless data transfer, and enhance design efficiency across all departments. Together with XPLM, Putzmeister implemented Siemens Teamcenter as the central PLM platform and successfully migrated existing design data from PTC WorkManager. The introduction of Siemens NX, combined with the conversion of existing CAD models, laid the foundation for an integrated and future-oriented engineering environment.
XPLM‘s integration solution is very intuitive and provides a consistent design process from Creo 3D modeling to Teamcenter and our ERP system. The integration is stable and is used by about 200 engineers at eight sites around the globe.
Solution
XPLM implemented a comprehensive solution to modernize Putzmeister’s engineering landscape and establish Siemens Teamcenter as the company’s future PLM platform. The project included the migration of existing design data from PTC WorkManager, the seamless integration of PTC Creo Elements/Direct into Teamcenter, and the subsequent introduction of Siemens NX. By using XPLM’s proven migration and CAD integration expertise, all data was transferred reliably and efficiently. During the transition phase, engineers continued working with their familiar CAD environment while gradually adopting the new PLM processes. This structured, multi-step approach ensured a smooth migration, minimized downtime, and laid the foundation for a unified, scalable engineering system ready for future expansion and cross-domain collaboration.
