Project Overview
IMA Schelling, a leading manufacturer of high-precision equipment and processing solutions for digitalized and automated production in the wood, metal, and plastics industries, aimed to streamline its parts list management across mechanical and electrical engineering. The project focused on integrating EPLAN P8 with Aras Innovator to enable centralized and automated BOM handling, ensuring that all engineers work with consistent and up-to-date master data. This integration enhanced transparency, reduced duplication, and improved overall data integrity throughout the engineering process.

Solution
XPLM implemented a two-stage EPLAN integration into Aras Innovator to optimize parts list management and eliminate sources of error in communication between engineering, procurement, and production. The customized integration allows engineers to generate function-specific parts lists directly from EPLAN and automatically store them in the PLM system. A complex mapping logic ensures that each production team receives only the data relevant to their area, while synchronized master data between EPLAN P8 and Aras Innovator guarantees that all users work with current and released components. This seamless integration enhances data consistency, transparency, and efficiency across all departments.
