XPLM Publishes Article on the Topic: “Consistency in Engineering”
In product development today, various engineering disciplines are used, each with its own standards and development methods. For this reason, smooth communication between the different departments involved in the development of a product has become an essential factor and is considered a prerequisite for a coordinated progression of each individual phase in the product life cycle. Model-based engineering addresses precisely these challenges in combination with a PLM system, ensuring that all product-related development phases are brought into alignment.
This topic was examined in greater detail by Christian Muggeo (research associate at the Chair of Virtual Product Development (VPE) at TU Kaiserslautern) and Michael Pfenning (PLM Consultant at XPLM Solution GmbH, also working at the Chair of Virtual Product Development at TU Kaiserslautern). Their article, “Consistency in Engineering,” was published on March 8, 2016, in Computer & AUTOMATION.
