Founded as Mentor Corporation in 1981, the US company was one of the first and world’s leading companies for solutions for the development of printed circuit boards and integrated circuits as well as embedded software products. At the end of 2016, Mentor was acquired by Siemens. It continues to lead the industry.
The acquisition as well as the renaming to Siemens EDA had no effect on the product portfolio. The Siemens EDM, Siemens Xpedition and Siemens PADS products are furthermore available. All three systems are used in the development of printed circuit boards.
