Their work ranges from: the production and sale of electronic motors and the development, production and sale of electronics for the control of pumps and pump systems; to the development, production and sale of new business products.
Project Overview
Grundfos, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of pumps and pump systems, aimed to optimize its data exchange between ECAD and SAP to eliminate manual effort and improve process efficiency. The project focused on automating BOM uploads from PADS Logic to SAP, standardizing parts list formats, and integrating change management workflows. This streamlined communication across departments, reduced manual checks, and ensured consistent, reliable data handling.
XPLM convinced us with their depth of knowledge in ECAD and ERP systems, as well as with their open-minded user customization. Also, their quick support- response time made our cooperation very pleasant. If we get a similar project as our PADS to SAP project again, XPLM will definitely be in our minds.
Solution
XPLM developed an integration connecting PADS Logic with SAP to automate BOM management and data exchange. The solution enables direct transfer of design data, drawings, and manufacturing files from PADS into SAP, where BOMs are automatically created or updated through a delta upload process. In addition, a library integration synchronizes ECAD parts with SAP materials, ensuring data accuracy and reducing manual verification efforts.
